Spikes Cavell Analytic is an agile and innovative data-centric business with a unique combination of knowledge, skills and experience. We have spent the better part of 25 years transforming raw data into actionable intelligence to enable business people to make better business decisions. For the past 10 years our expert staff have been dedicated to delivering management information and business intelligence that significantly improves spend visibility for government bodies, educational institutions and large corporations on both sides of the Atlantic.
In April 2017, Spikes Cavell’s parent company, Computer Science Corporation merged with Hewlett Packard Enterprise Services to form DXC Technology, the world’s leading independent, end-to-end IT services company, helping clients harness the power of innovation to thrive on change. Spikes Cavell has joined DXC Technology’s Data and Analytics team.
We treat our customers as partners. We take time to understand their information needs and how business intelligence can be used to help them deliver more effectively. And that means listening. What we learn by listening is used to inform our research and development efforts to ensure that it is sharply focused on those things that will make the biggest difference.
Here’s what our customers say about us:
A great deal has already been done to improve public procurement in Scotland and better procurement has helped deliver £1.2billion ($1.9bn) savings since we first contracted with Spikes Cavell to deliver improved spend visibility nationwide in 2006. The Scottish Procurement Information Hub (Observatory) and Spikes Cavell have been key enablers for this programmeGary Robinson
Because the information is ‘just there’, it’s easy to stumble across things that you thought you might need to address, but the data in the Observatory/Hub provides tangible evidence. Having the facts to hand has helped us to focus on the projects and initiatives that will make the biggest difference. We have a fabulous resource here that provides consistent visibility of spend for the whole country (Scotland).Helen MacKenzie
We contracted with Spikes Cavell to conduct a spend analysis across all 23 CSU campuses and the Chancellor’s Office. It was tough at the start of the project, as we were in the middle of transitioning to a revised financial system as well as a new procurement card provider. We ended up delivering as many as four datasets per campus. Despite those challenges, Spikes Cavell was able to complete the project two weeks ahead of schedule with the team being beyond helpful. We are already zeroing in on initial opportunities for collaboration and savings – and we expect a great deal more moving forward. Spikes Cavell has performed beyond our expectations.Tom Roberts
Using Spikes Cavell is a big win for us. Prior to engaging with them, data collection and consolidation was an extremely complex process, whereas now we get very organized, neat data which is infinitely more valuable to us.Duane Tucker
I chose Spikes Cavell not only because they were able to transform our spend data into something ready for analysis, but also because the pre-built reports in the Observatory meant that I had immediate access to exactly the information I needed, giving me some firm foundations to stand upon.Denislava Ivanova
We’ve been struggling with it (data transformation) for almost eight years and kept running into challenges that have prohibited us from doing so: Poor or inappropriate classification, data important for procurement not being captured in our finance systems and challenges integrating multiple disparate systems like accounts payable and pCard have all stopped us getting to what we felt we needed. The Spikes Cavell Observatory was up and running within weeks, addressed all of the challenges we’d encountered and didn’t cost us a lot to implement. I can say for a fact we couldn’t have done it without the Observatory.Mike Bevis
Working with Spikes Cavell has been a very productive experience for national procurement. One of the key strengths of the company is undoubtedly their people. The integrity they have shown throughout the whole implementation process has been second to none. They have done what they said they’re going to do and they’ve done it when they said.Brendan Faulds
Certainly in the last year, the priority has been on the purchase card program and Spikes Cavell and the Observatory has enabled us to increase our rebate by at least 30%, if not more.Kirk Buffington
